Blue Hour at Salford Quays

There are 3 twilights. After sunset, there’s civil, then nautical and finally astronomical, twilight.

As the sky steadily darkens after sunset there is a better balance between artificial and natural light. Too early and it still looks like daylight, too late and you end up with overexposed lights against a pitch black sky.
