I spent 2 days in a village near Surat Thani . . . way off the beaten tourist path. It was a very interesting experience - a chance to see rural Thailand. We also visited this mountain park with a great view.

This is Ratchaprapha Dam and resevoir. The first pic from there anyway . . .
 
Apparently this place used to be called Chieo Lan (a chinese name) cause it looked like a place in China called Chieo Lan.
 
Now the place is named Ratchaprapha - after the King's granddaughter or something like that!
 
This area is in a national park called Khao Sok National Park.
