My first day in Thailand I rented a vehicle and visited a buddhist temple. Its the largest one in Phuket. Wat is thai for temple.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
This and the next 2 images are of Luang Po Chaem (1827-1908). He was a very famous abbot (and later head) of the Wat Chalong monastery.

Thai people have a thing for elephants. Its like a national symbol and I think its linked in with Buddhism some how too.
